The Oregon German Shepherd Rescue has just received a little Shepherd girl
that is desperate need of surgery.

She was most likely tossed from a balcony by her owner. From the fall, and
subsequent landing, on the cement, she has broken her hip. We believe the fall was
intentional due to the fact when the finder went to the aide of the dog, the owner said
the "dog was dumped on her, and she had someone on the way over to kill the dog".

The finders asked if they could have the dog, and sought vet care immediately.
Due to the high cost of the surgery, the finders looked for a rescue that might be able
to help, and that is where we come in. We have an appointment Monday for additional
x-rays, and to schedule her surgery.

Leyla is looking forward to a speedy recovery, and starting her new life with people
that will love, and care for her, and offer her a SAFE, and forever home.
Update 9/19/2007: Leyla had her surgery and is recovering wonderfully. She went in
for her 2-week check up and the vet says she's doing better than expected! Thank you
for all of your support for her! She has even found an adoptive home that she will go to
when she is healed.
Update 9/29/07: Leyla is nearly
healed and has found her forever
home! She is so happy with her new
parents and they are of course very
happy with her too. Just look at them!
