Oregon German Shepherd Rescue is always looking for volunteers. We have listed some of the many ways we could use your help. Adoption follow up monitor: We need a volunteer to do follow up phone calls and emails for our adopted dogs. We would like to have follow ups done at 3 days, 2 weeks, 2 months, 6 months and a year after adoption. Pet finder manager: We are looking for a person to keep the pet finder site up to date. This entails adding pets, adding photo's, writing bio's, removing ads when the pets are updated. Ads monitor: We are looking for a person to keep an eye on Craig's list, pet finder classifieds, and local papers for German Shepherds in need. We have a form letter we send out letting people know we are here, and offering help if they need it. Transport team members and a coordinator: We are always looking for people to offer transport services. We are currently looking for a coordinator to keep track of volunteers, and to act as a recruiter for additional transporters. We transport from all areas of Oregon, and occasionally from California and Washington. Shelter evaluators and pullers: Our current goal is to have a person in each County that will pull German Shepherds from local shelters. They will agree to hold the dog until transport can get to them. We try to arrange for same day pick up, occasionally it will require an overnight stay. All dogs must be approved by the Oregon German Shepherd Rescue prior to pulling. Foster family coordinator: We are looking for a person to monitor foster family availiblity, and keep track of who has what dogs. We also would like this person to recruit new fosters by means of ads online, and other publications. If you are interested in volunteering with our organization, please fill out the Volunteer Interest form below and click submit. |
